The Joys of Everyday Life

Today's one of those blog days... you know, when you just feel like school isn't working out for you anymore and it's time to just recognize the happiness of everyday life!!!

Today's happiness: Today i actually did terrible on a test that i had studied super hard for... and because i didn't want to feel crappy all night i decided to sing in the shower. REALLY SING LOUD! haha that's unusual for me because i'm scared my roommates will hear but tonight i decided to not care and so i just sang! Boy did it feel good. Try it next time you have a bad day :) Getting out of your comfort zone rocks!

Now some of the joys of my last few months!

Two reasons why this makes me happy:

Move Your Feet, You'll be OK

I don't like to post a lot of personal things but i've really felt i need start sharing my experiences with those around me so they can find the hope that i have found in my life through my own trials. We all have trials, everyone's are different but they are all hard.  I wrote this for those who struggle with one pain or another and to show you how happiness is still available despite our challenges.

My Greatest Joy and Greatest Trial
The greatest part of my life is my family. The greatest trial of my life involves my family. For quite some time we have been going through a major trial, the divorce of my parents. You wouldn't know it from the outside as we try to put on a happy face when we leave the house, but inside there is struggle and there is pain. I don't usually like to express my weaknesses, especially in front of my family members as i try to be strong, but I will be blunt to say that I struggle hard with this trial. Often times I have little motivation to go to school, I want to blame everyone around me, I find myself jealous of everyone around me. Depression could take me if I let up. Some days i am filled with such strong emotions about my life that i will honestly just cry for twenty minutes. Each day is a new day, each day brings its new adventures, life is just so unpredictable.

A few days ago I had been overwhelmed with emotional stress with my family as well as a great list of things to get done for school.  So like always, I ignored my feelings and went about studying. All within a few hours i recieved the following text messages:

I balled. I couldn't help myself. Look at how Heavenly Father saw my struggle and prompted people to be little angels in my life. At that moment i saw this whole situation in a larger perspective, and knew everything was going to be ok. We don't have time to blame when we should be loving. We don't have time to be sad when we've got to fill our lives with happiness. My situation is inevitable. It's going to be hard for everyone but we've just got to make the most of it. I believe that each individual, no matter their trial can turn their lives in any direction they choose. Heavenly Father is watching and protecting you. Look at all the great things that you have in your life. I know that everything is going to work out for the better, that we can all be happy, that life has so many wonderful things to look forward to. I also believe that it's also ok to cry and to cry in front of people. It may seem awkward since your face twists all weird and you have makeup and snot all over you face but who cares? There are people all around you who are willing to help. Be humble and allow those who love you to help you! It's so worth it. Don't give up! Just keep going-- life just gets better and better. Move your feet, and you'll be ok.

I couldn't help but put up this picture of my cute family. I love every single one of them :) So lucky to have them in my life
